What do you believe to be the
most effective component
of the Ashbrook way of teaching and learning about America?
Relying on the words of those who lived and wrote our history to tell the true story of America in primary source documents, including letters, speeches essays, and other historical documents.
Asking questions and using conversation in classrooms rather than lectures to help students discover the truth for themselves, challenging them to think critically, and come to their own conclusions about American History.
Focusing on American principles, such as liberty, equality, and justice in order to help students understand why their country is worthy of their love and devotion.
Presenting the whole truth of America’s story to students – the good, bad, and the ugly.

When you think of the Ashbrook center, what is your first thought?
They educate students to be principled leaders for America's future.
They equip teachers with the knowledge and confidence they need to help young Americans discover the wonderfully interesting story of American and learn why they should love and respect their country.
They host events such as the Ashbrook Memorial Dinner and Major Issues Lecture Series with distinguished guests like Justice Clarence Thomas, former Vice President Mike Pence, and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
They provide online resources including
The American Idea
podcast and a course for citizens to learn about America and our founding principles.
They publish resources for students and teachers including
50 Core American Documents
and the
Core Documents
volumes.

Taught undergraduate students through the Ashbrook Scholar Program.

Develop and implement curriculum and standards for American history and
government education across the nation.
Get an Ashbrook teacher in every high school in America.
Prepare the next great American statesman – the next Abraham Lincoln or
Ronald Reagan.
Make Ashbrook the go-to organization for citizens when they have questions or want to learn more about America and our Founding principles.
Prepare new audiences such as lawyers, local and state government officials, business leaders, and others with a fair and honest understanding of America's exceptional history.
