Ken Masugi, Ph.D., is a lecturer of political science for the Advanced Academic Programs department at the Johns Hopkins University Washington Center for Advanced Governmental Studies.

He has been a speechwriter for two Cabinet members and for Justice Clarence Thomas during his tenure as Chairman of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.  He is co-author, editor, or co-editor of seven books on American politics. While directing programs at the Claremont Institute, he also served as editor of its quarterly Claremont Review of Books in its early years. He is on the editorial board of two political science journals. He has taught at several universities, including the U.S. Air Force Academy, where he was Olin Distinguished Visiting Professor; James Madison College of Michigan State University; the Ashbrook Center at Ashland University; and Princeton University. He is currently writing a book on the Declaration of Independence and multiculturalism.
