On November 19, 1863, Abraham Lincoln gave one of the most important speeches in American history, the Gettysburg Address. On the anniversary of the Gettysburg Address, what can we learn from Lincoln about leadership and the principles that have made America what we are? And how can we apply those insights to our situation today? Join us as we explore these questions with Dr. Lucas Morel, who is the John K. Boardman, Jr. Professor of Politics and head of the Politics Department at Washington and Lee University. His publications include Measuring the Man: The Writings of Frederick Douglass on Abraham Lincoln; Lincoln and Liberty: Wisdom for the Ages; and Lincoln’s Sacred Effort: Defining Religion’s Role in American Self-Government.
We hope you’ll plan to join us!
