Archer Library
8th Floor
For nearly 40 years, Ashbrook has called the 8th floor of the Archer Library at Ashland University home. Dozens of influential figures such as Clarence Thomas, Bill Buckley, Margaret Thatcher, and Mike Pence have visited us in the Center. Countless profound and life-altering conversations have taken place and hundreds of students have learned to be the leaders our country needs on the 8th floor, or ABC, as some of us have come to know it.
Yet, as you may know, we have outgrown the space in recent years! With over 120 Ashbrook Scholars now in the program (including our largest Freshman class of 51 this year) and a growing staff of over 20, the time has come to say goodbye to our old home. Starting next academic year, Ashbrook will be located on the second floor of the Dwight Schar College of Education building, where we’ll have offices, classrooms, and a lecture space to host classes, colloquia, and other events for years to come. All of Dr. Peter Schramm’s books and other personal effects will be moved from his old office to a newly dedicated “Peter W. Schramm Library.”
Before the move, you are invited to a special event to say goodbye to the 8th floor. The event will take place on April 30th from 1-4 p.m. Light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be provided. All are welcome!
If you plan to attend, please register using the form below by April 21st. We look forward to a fun-filled event with old and new friends, and, of course, good conversation.
Registration has closed for this event.
