Victory and Defeat: The Final Months of World War II

A CONFERENCE FROM THE ASHBROOK CENTER

A Call for Papers

1945 saw the end of the most devastating conflict in modern history. In honor of that momentous event, the Ashbrook Center at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio is hosting a conference on September 5-6, 2025, addressing the end of the war and the transition to the postwar era. It will feature as a keynote speaker Dr. Robert Citino, Samuel Zemurray Stone Senior Historian at the National WWII Museum and author most recently of The Wehrmacht’s Last Stand: The German Campaigns of 1944–1945.

We are inviting scholars to present papers on any aspect of World War II, including military, political, economic, social, and cultural, with priority given to those that focus on the period 1944-1946. To be considered, please submit a brief abstract and CV by April 30, 2025 to John Moser (jmoser1@ashland.edu).
