Fred Barnes

Fred Barnes is executive editor of The Weekly Standard, the nation’s most influential conservative magazine on politics and public policy.

He writes about politics, Congress, and the media. He is host, along with Mort Kondracke, of “The Beltway Boys” on the Fox News Channel.
From 1988 to 1998 Mr. Barnes was a regular panelist on “The McLaughlin Group.” He also debated Bob Beckel as a regular commentator on “CBS This Morning” from 1990 to 1999.

He moderates “Issues in the News” on the Voice of America and hosts a syndicated show on the media, “What’s the Story?”. He has a reputation for humor and sharply worded exchanges with those on the liberal side of politics. His speeches capture that same spirit as he analyzes Washington politics.
