William Kristol
Where and when
William Kristol is editor and publisher of the influential political magazine, The Weekly Standard. Widely recognized as one of the nation’s leading political analysts and commentators, Kristol is a regular on ABC’s This Week and he often appears on Good Morning America, The News Hour with Jim Lehrer and the Charlie Rose Show. Washington Magazine recently called Kristol “the hottest pundit in town.”
Before starting The Weekly Standard in 1995, Kristol was chairman of the Project for the Republican Future, where he helped shape the strategy that produced the 1994 Republican congressional victory. Prior to that, Kristol served as chief to staff of Vice President Dan Quayle during the Bush administration and to Secretary of Education William Bennett under President Reagan.
Before coming to Washington in 1985, Kristol taught politics at the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.
Kristol is a member of the John M. Ashbrook Center for Public Affairs Board of Advisers.
