Patrick Campbell, Assistant Professor of Political Science, joined Ashland University in 2010. Professor Campbell teaches courses in American political thought and institutions. Prior to joining the Ashland community, he served in the United States Department of Justice in Washington, DC, where he worked in the Bureau of Justice Statistics as Special Assistant; in the Office of the Assistant Attorney General (OJP); and in the National Institute of Justice.

Dr. Campbell received his Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and his B.S. from Bridgewater State College. While at the University of Massachusetts, he taught courses on American politics, constitutional law, and religion and politics. His dissertation examines the concept of representation in American political development since the colonial era.
