David Alvis is Associate Professor of Government at Wofford College.  He received his Ph.D. from Fordham University in New York in Political Science and his Masters in American Studies from the University of Dallas.  At Wofford, he teaches courses on American Politics including: The American Presidency, Constitutional Law, and Political Parties.  His publications include articles on the Electoral College, Progressivism and early twentieth century politics, and the Obama Presidency.  He has also published articles on John Ford’s The Searchers and is currently completing a piece on Michelangelo’s David.  He is the author, with Flagg Taylor and Jeremy Bailey, of The Contested Removal Power, 1789-2010 (2013).
